Certifications, Transcripts & Student Records

The Faculty of Arts and Sciences Registrar’s Office has partnered with the National Student Clearinghouse to provide transcript ordering online. This online ordering service is available for FAS students and alumni 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Normal processing time, excluding holiday and office closures, is 2-3 business days once an order is received by the University.

Online Student Record

The FAS Online Student Record is an internal advising document that includes information on coursework undertaken in a specific degree program for both undergraduate and graduate students. Information such as a student's concentration or department, abbreviated course titles, year/term of course enrollments, course credit value and grades earned, are listed on this document. For undergraduates, this document will also display courses that count for concentration credit, General Education, Core and College course requirements, Advanced Placement scores, credits received from Study Abroad, and an annual and cumulative GPA.

Note: Online student records are distributed as Adobe PDF documents. If the record is opened with an application other than Adobe, text may appear unreadable. If this occurs, use the "Open With" feature and select Adobe to open the document. If your record opens as a blank page, upgrade to the latest Adobe version. Mac users: If when using Safari, you encounter a looping PIN, access your record using Firefox.

Access to Education Records

Students and alumni wishing access to their education records should write to the FAS Registrar’s Office and include their name, date of birth, and dates of attendance.  The student or alum should identify the specific record or records he/she wishes to inspect. Once the request is received the Registrar’s Office will gather the appropriate records and access will be given within 45 days from the receipt of the request. When a record contains information about more than one student, the student requesting access may inspect and review only the portion of the record relating to him or her. Students also are not permitted to view letters and statements of recommendation to which they waived their right of access, or that were placed in their file before January 1, 1975.  Requests may be sent to transcripts [at] fas [dot] harvard [dot] edu or mailed to:
